MMTP Monitoring Committee

The MMTP Monitoring Committee was formed in 2016 with participants from Indigenous communities and groups across southern Manitoba and northwest Ontario, Manitoba Hydro and Manitoba Sustainable Development. The construction monitoring reports have been developed by the MMTP construction monitors. Reports were developed on a monthly basis, and shared with the Monitoring Committee. The final monitoring report is authored by monitors Darryl Taylor, Keith Kowall and Travis Bird and documents their experience throughout the construction of MMTP. The final report summarizes the compliance and environmental monitoring results, offers a discussion on communication successes and challenges, describes the traditional ceremonies that were held, and provides recommendations for future projects. The report concludes with a summary, thoughts on the committee’s achievement of its goals, and offers next steps.
