MMTP Closing Ceremony

On September 23, 2020 a closing ceremony was held near the Duff Roblin Provincial Park near Towers 121 and 122. The ceremony was led by Elders and Pipe Carriers Grant Manningway and Darryl Taylor, assisted by Carl Taylor on the drum. A few members of the MMTP Monitoring Committee from the Manitoba Metis Federation, Peguis First Nation, Dakota Tipi First Nation and Swan Lake First Nation were in attendance, in addition to a few Manitoba Hydro employees. All attendees shared some words about the project and thanked each other for the positive experience.

Following the ceremony, the group enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Feast Café Bistro. Precautionary measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 were followed, which included limiting the number of participants. For this reason, we would like to share the following video and photos to allow those who were not in attendance to view parts of the beautiful ceremony.
