CLOMP Land Parcel Selection
The Crown Land Offset Measures Plan (CLOMP) was developed to address the permanent loss of Crown lands available for traditional use by Indigenous Peoples resulting from the Project. CLOMP will offset for the permanent loss of Crown lands by adding to the amount of Provincial Crown land currently available for traditional use through purchasing suitable private land and converting it into Crown Land. More information can be found in the Plan. Potential land parcels available for selection, as well as purchased parcels are regularly updated on the website.
Purchased CLOMP Land Parcels
Land Parcel #1
NW 7-1-9 EPM 1133 Road 48E, Stuartburn, Manitoba
Parcel Description: This land parcel is composed of 155.58 acres of land and is located in the RM of Stuartburn directly south of Arbakka Road. The parcel is next to Crown land to the north (across the road), and it is approximately 15 km southwest of the Manitoba-Minnesota Transmission Line.
The majority of the parcel has always been kept natural. There is a mowed area that currently includes a small building/cabin that is approximately 100 years old as well as a few small outbuildings or remnants of outbuildings. Because the intention of the CLOMP is to create undeveloped Crown land to offset Crown land permanently taken up by MMTP, improvements such as buildings would need to be removed from the site if it were purchased. Trails, some of which have been maintained by mowing also exist on the property.
